Marvel's Spider-Man is an action-adventure Match developed by Insomniac Games and Released by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4, based on the Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man.
Released on September 7, 2018, it's the very first licensed game. The game tells a new story about Spider-Man that isn't tied to an existing comic book, video game, or film, and covers both Peter Parker and Spider-Man aspects of the character.
Spider-Man was received upon launch. Critics called it one of the best superhero games praising especially the combat, its gameplay and mechanics, graphics, narrative, characterization, and design of new york, though felt it lacked invention in its design. The game became a commercial success, promoting 3.3 million copies in its first three days of launch, and bankrupt several sales documents.
Spider-Man features a huge ensemble cast of characters in Spider-Man comics' history. Parker uses these abilities to look after the taxpayers of New York City as the superhero Spider-Man. Eight years in his superhero career, Parker has become an masterful and experienced crime fighter, but struggles to balance lives and his superhero. He is assisted in his struggle by intrepid Daily Bugle reporter Mary Jane Watson (Laura Bailey), his ex-girlfriend, also NYPD Captain Yuri Watanabe (Tara Platt). Parker is used by his mentor and friend, the honored scientist Dr. Otto Octavius (William Salyers). Spider-Man's experience brings him into contact with other personalities, such as Miles Morales (Nadji Jeter) and his parents, NYPD Officer Jefferson Davis (Russell Richardson) and Rio Morales (Jacqueline Pinol), OsCorp CEO and New York mayor Norman Osborn (Mark Rolston), along with Silver Sablinova (Nichole Elise), chief of the private military firm Sable International.
Spider-Man's mission to guard the city brings him into conflict with supervillains. The narrative opens with Spider-Man taking down his longtime foe Wilson Fisk (Travis Willingham), the Kingpin of crime in New York. Fisk is sent to prison, but cautions that he was the sole person. Fisk's lack gives rise to some supernaturally powered, demonic-mask sporting gang known as the Demons who start dividing the city for the powerful Mr. Negative, who will corrupt individuals through his touch. Spider-Man must also confront Electro (Josh Keaton), Rhino (Fred Tatasciore), Scorpion (Jason Spisak), Vulture (Dwight Schultz), Shocker (Dave B. Mitchell), Taskmaster (Brian Bloom), Screwball (Stephanie Lemelin), and Tombstone (Corey Jones).
Several different characters--such as Parker's and Watson's childhood friend Harry Osborn (Scott Porter), who's vanished on a long European holiday, and anti-Spider-Man podcast bunch J. Jonah Jameson (Darin p Paul) have voice characters in the major game. The game features several references such as the Sanctum Sanctorum, the Wakandan Embassy, Avengers Tower, Murdock & Nelson Attorneys at Law, Rand Corporation, and Alias Investigations.  Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee cameos as a short-order cook. The game's downloadable content features appearances by master-thief Black Cat (Erica Lindbeck) (who has a voice-only function in Cheap EXP farming the main game), and Hammerhead (Keith Silverstein), leader of the Maggia crime family.
